I would love to know what you’d think and say about how the kids have grown, what they’ve become, who they remind you of, how important they are to you. I’d like to share my garden with you, though I know just the thought of this heat would make your skin crawl. I wonder what you’d think of America, where I am in my life, all the obstacles I’ve dealt with to get this far. Most of all, I hope you are looking down and know that we are happy, that you would be pleased for us and with us.
Starting the new year off nicely. I am throwing some supper in the oven early on in the day, while we clean and declutter the house. Not only do these ribs taste amazingly good, the whole house smells like a french bistro all day!

Busy weekend travelling to see friends. I’m so glad that I went but feeling a little jaded after back to back travel. I was in Fairlawn NJ and the surrounding area. The flora and fauna are so reminiscent of my homeland and many of the home sizes the same. I am spoilt here in Huntsville and I love it. I do miss the horse chestnuts and the green, green landscape but the pace and price of everything…no~sir~ee. My friend is a chocolatier and talented one at that, she also does great flower arrangements…so if you are in that neck of the woods and want either of the aforementioned gorgeous displays of goodies or displays, let me know. I will gladly have her contact you. She also specializes in Turkish foods and does a superb job of cooking…just in case you are in need or such a talent.
Today is my day off. I walked 4 miles before 7am. Went and got some groceries, made breakfast and made some meals for my husband to take on travel with him. ( yes I cook, portion, stack and freeze his food for when he is TDY. It’s cost effective, financially and in terms of time). We had breakfast while we skyped with our daughter in law and grand baby, then showered and headed up to “Across the Pond” to pick up some more pavers, check out the fountain we picked via texting with Trevor Cole and give him some grief along the way! Then it was off to Lowe’s ( we are life members!) , Earth Fare for some grass fed Bison steaks and then home for supper before planting the petunias and coreopsis that I picked up for 50c a pack on the clearance ( or somebody come love me) rack in Lowe’s garden center. I get a lot of my plants on clearance but we spend enough in there to make up for that and some!
Growing up, I planned to be a physical education instructor, or if I got really lucky, to train dolphins and
swim for a living. Swimming is a passion of mine; I wasn’t sure where I would
find dolphins in Shrewsbury, an agriculturally rich town and definitely inland and without any visible
signs of dolphins. I hadn’t got a clue how a small town girl like me would find the kind of money it took to move away and follow one’s dreams. That was the kind of thing other folks did.
